Logistics & transportation

Client & industry

Lagarde Spedition spol. s r.o. is a Czech logistics company with ongoing operational activities in Germany. Based in the Czech–German border region, the company operates in the transport and logistics sector with a strong focus on cross-border operations.

Initial situation / challenge

In conducting its business activities in Germany, Lagarde Spedition is regularly faced with a wide range of legal issues. These include both day-to-day operational matters and structural topics, in particular the corporate maintenance of a German subsidiary.

In addition, the company frequently encounters transport law issues, representation before German authorities and courts, traffic accidents occurring in Germany, and the enforcement of outstanding claims against German customers. The key challenge lies in coordinating these diverse issues efficiently and in a legally secure manner, while taking into account the company’s cross-border structure.

Solution / legal approach

Maxfeld acts as Lagarde Spedition’s central legal point of contact for all matters relating to its activities in Germany. The advisory approach is deliberately cross-disciplinary and covers corporate law, transport law, and litigation matters.

A key element of this approach is close cross-border cooperation with legal counsel in the Czech Republic. This ensures that differing legal frameworks are considered at an early stage and that consistent solutions are developed. Central coordination of all matters allows for efficient handling of both ongoing advisory issues and specific disputes involving customers, accident parties, and authorities.

Result / added value

Lagarde Spedition benefits from a single, coordinated point of contact for all legal matters relating to its operations in Germany. The simultaneous consideration of multiple legal systems provides a high level of legal certainty in day-to-day business.

Numerous individual matters, including disputes with customers, traffic accidents, and the enforcement of outstanding claims, were successfully concluded. In particular, the consistent recovery of receivables helped reduce economic risk and secure the company’s legitimate claims on a sustainable basis.

Maxfeld team / expertise

The mandate was handled by Maxfeld with a focus on corporate law and transport & logistics law. The advisory work was led by Sebastian Harschneck.
