NUREMBERG OFFICE

Law Firm in Nuremberg

Maxfeld.legal is an internationally focused business law firm based at Leipziger Platz 21 in Nuremberg. We handle cross-border matters and are firmly rooted here, close to the region's companies and to the courts where we represent them. For business owners and investors, that combines international reach with a settled presence on the ground.

International reach, rooted in Nuremberg

Maxfeld.legal grew out of one of the first internationally focused firms with roots in Nuremberg. The former bnt attorneys in CEE became two separate firms, LYNX and Maxfeld. On matters across Central and Eastern Europe, we continue to work with LYNX.

Our office is in Nuremberg; our work is national and cross-border. More than 20 years of experience in international business law come together at this one location. The firm is led by its four managing directors, all admitted lawyers: Sebastian Harschneck, Johannes Egelhof, Daniel Gößling and Martin Neupert.

You can see who will handle your matter and reach the rest of the team on our team page. We advise in both German and English, so English-speaking clients work with the same lawyers throughout.

Our Leipziger Platz office: getting here and reaching us

You will find us at Leipziger Platz 21, 90491 Nuremberg. To arrange an appointment, call +49 911 569 61-0 or email contact@maxfeld.legal. Tell us briefly what your matter concerns beforehand, so we can prepare the meeting with the right contact on our side.

The A3, A6, A9 and A73 motorways, Nuremberg central station and Nuremberg Airport put us within easy reach from further afield. For clients in Fürth, Erlangen, Schwabach and the surrounding Nürnberger Land district, we are only a short trip away. Where the matter allows, we are equally happy to meet by video conference, so that travel never stands in the way of an appointment.

Rooted locally: the Nuremberg courts

A commercial matter is often decided in court. The chambers and registers responsible sit in Nuremberg. We know them from daily practice and understand how cases are argued here.

LANDGERICHT NÜRNBERG-FÜRTH (REGIONAL COURT)

Five Chambers for Commercial Matters (Kammern für Handelssachen) are based at the Justizpalast, Fürther Straße 110. They decide competition cases, construction, freight forwarding, carriage and warehousing disputes, and leasing, credit and insolvency-related claims, among others. When one of our clients' commercial disputes reaches the first instance, this is where it is heard.

OBERLANDESGERICHT NÜRNBERG (HIGHER REGIONAL COURT)

With 22 senates, the Oberlandesgericht Nürnberg is the second largest Higher Regional Court in Bavaria. It hears appeals and complaints against the Regional Courts; its district covers Middle Franconia, the Upper Palatinate and two Local Court districts in Lower Bavaria. When a case moves to the second instance, it stays within the same court system where we already act at first instance.

ARBEITSGERICHT NÜRNBERG (LABOUR COURT)

At Roonstraße 20, employment cases for Nuremberg, Fürth, Erlangen, Schwabach, Ansbach and the surrounding districts are heard. The Landesarbeitsgericht Nürnberg, the appeal court for employment matters, sits in the same building. Here we act for employers only, for example in unfair dismissal claims (Kündigungsschutzklagen) and in works council proceedings (Beschlussverfahren).

AMTSGERICHT NÜRNBERG (LOCAL COURT): REGISTERS AND ESTATES

At Flaschenhofstraße 35, the Local Court keeps commercial registers A and B (Handelsregister) as well as the partnership, cooperative and association registers. The same court acts as probate court (Nachlassgericht) for estates where the deceased's last habitual residence was in Nuremberg. Company formations and conversions are entered here and estate proceedings are opened here; we support clients with both on the ground.

The Middle Franconia business region

Nuremberg sits at the centre of one of the strongest business regions in southern Germany. The district of the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Middle Franconia (IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken) counts more than 130,000 member companies and over 825,000 employees in jobs subject to social insurance; economic output in Middle Franconia was around 98 billion euros in 2023.

The region is shaped by automotive supply companies such as Schaeffler in Herzogenaurach and LEONI in Nuremberg, by electrical and medical engineering around the Siemens site in Erlangen, and by one of the largest logistics hubs in southern Germany at the Nuremberg freight village (Güterverkehrszentrum). Doing business here means dealing with international supply chains, company acquisitions, cross-border deployment of staff and the enforcement of claims. These are exactly the questions we advise on.

Frequently asked questions about our Nuremberg office

Our office is at Leipziger Platz 21, 90491 Nuremberg. To arrange an appointment, call +49 911 569 61-0 or email contact@maxfeld.legal. We match it to your matter and, where something is urgent, can deal with the first points by phone or video beforehand.

Yes. Our office is in Nuremberg, and our work is national and international. We act for companies across the wider metropolitan region as well as for foreign businesses operating in Germany. Much of the work can be handled regardless of location; for negotiations and court hearings, we are there in person.

We advise in German and English, so international clients work with English-speaking lawyers in Nuremberg throughout. Through our roots in Central and Eastern Europe, some of our colleagues cover additional languages. At the start of the engagement we agree which language a given matter calls for.

Our focus is business law: corporate law and M&A, employment law for employers, litigation, intellectual property and IT law, real estate, insolvency and restructuring, and international inheritance law. Private matters without a business dimension are outside our scope.

We represent clients before the Regional Court Nürnberg-Fürth (Landgericht) and its Chambers for Commercial Matters, before the Higher Regional Court Nürnberg (Oberlandesgericht), before the Labour Court and the Regional Labour Court Nürnberg (Arbeitsgericht and Landesarbeitsgericht), and in register and estate matters before the Local Court Nürnberg (Amtsgericht).

Leipziger Platz is conveniently placed for the city centre and the A3, A6, A9 and A73 motorways. Nuremberg central station and Nuremberg Airport are both close by. That makes getting here straightforward for out-of-town clients as well.
