Daniel Gößling among Germany's best lawyers

Handelsblatt and Best Lawyers recognise our partner for arbitration, dispute resolution and mediation.

Handelsblatt, in cooperation with Best Lawyers, lists our partner Daniel Gößling in its ranking of Germany's best lawyers. The recognition is based on a peer review process in which lawyers assess whom they credit with professional excellence in their field. It therefore reflects the judgement of those who know Daniel's work from their own matters and from facing him in proceedings.

A profile for high-stakes proceedings

For around two decades, Daniel has advised German and international clients in litigation and international arbitration. Cross-border commercial disputes and dispute resolution along supply and distribution chains form a particular focus of his practice. Clients seek his support above all in situations where substantial values are at stake and where, alongside legal skill, strategic foresight is needed to find the right approach to a conflict that is only just emerging or already well advanced.

Handelsblatt has now recognised him for his track record in arbitration and mediation.

Rooted in Nuremberg, connected across Europe

Daniel is a partner of Maxfeld.legal. Our firm has operated under this name since 23 February 2026 and carries forward what grew in Nuremberg over more than two decades as bnt attorneys in CEE. What began with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe has become a globally oriented practice for international business law, advising international clients on market entry in Germany as well as German companies on projects worldwide. Daniel embodies this bridge between markets in a particular way.

He is also a partner of the LYNX offices in Warsaw and Sofia. He helped build these offices while they still operated under the bnt attorneys in CEE flag, now continues to lead them under LYNX and serves as co-head of the Dispute Resolution practice group. For clients of Maxfeld.legal, this dual role means seamless, well-practised cooperation beyond the German border, built on personal relationships rather than anonymous correspondent channels.

His practice reflects this orientation. It ranges from the group-wide management of all executive contracts for a global industrial group, where he acts as the central point of contact coordinating advice with local lawyers at all international locations, to the representation of leading automotive suppliers in litigation and arbitration on warranty claims, recalls and cancelled orders, and the support of a major German retailer entering the Polish market.

Academic foundations

Before entering private practice, Daniel was an assistant to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Fincke at the Chair of East European Law at the University of Passau. The comparative law perspective he gained there continues to shape his approach to cross-border engagements and combines doctrinal precision with commercial pragmatism. He studied law in Passau, complemented by a year at Krasnoyarsk State University.

Daniel is a member of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) and of the bar associations of Nuremberg, Warsaw and Sofia.

Voices from working together

In cross-border engagements, colleagues and cooperation partners highlight Daniel's legal depth as well as his precise communication and his reliability. This combination, they report, regularly produces convincing results for the clients they serve together.

Inclusion in the Handelsblatt list confirms this reputation from an independent source and at the same time reflects the standard Maxfeld.legal associates with bridging. business. legal. We warmly congratulate Daniel and look forward to continuing our work together for our clients.
